My Top 10 List for Dealing with Life and Reducing Stress in 2019

My Top 10 List for Dealing with Life and Reducing Stress in 2019

It’s the 2nd quarter of my junior year. I’ve taken the SATs multiple times and applied to a bunch of colleges. My classes are currently suffocating me with an onslaught of tests, projects, and quizzes, and I have no time for either sleep or a social life. How do I get through it all without both failing and crying myself to sleep every night? One thing I do to keep my sanity is I browse on Amazon. It’s my little escape from reality as I look at all the cute and comforting things in the Interesting Finds “Fun” category and heart ⅓ of the things I see. I’ve decided to share my little electronic escapism technique with you all, and even give you 13 of my favorite items to buy on Amazon if you’re feeling like a pick-me-up.

1. Essential oils and essential oil diffuser

This item I totally recommend for people who get very stressed an work long hours at a time. An essential oil kit could really benefit to reduce your stress and anxiety, and can even homeopathically keep you focused. I strongly recommend aromatherapy for those who really get hit hard by the stress and tests of life. Here’s the link to my personal diffuser and a basic essential oils set.

2. A cute mug to drink my tea in

You might be wondering, “Annette, why the heck would you tell us to get a mug? How does this make me feel happier.” I say to you, trust in the power of a cute and aesthetic mug to brighten your mood. I always drink tea when I work, and I find that looking at my cute mugs helps brighten my day just a little more. Here is a link to my favorite octopus mug that is so cool you wish you had it:

3. A cute shirt that would bring a fun spark to my wardrobe

Buying new clothes always makes people feel better, or at least for the people I know + myself. I find that getting a new shirt and being excited to wear it tomorrow motivates me, as I want to be able to actually attend the movies tomorrow and not be stuck working at my desk. Here are two versions of a shirt with a  human heart on them.   I don’t know why but I find them super cool.

4. A soy candle

To keep on with the aromatherapy theme, small soy candles help me stay focused and happy with a nice subtle aroma and cute tin packaging. There are some cute ones on Amazon, but I also highly recommend the single wick candles from Bath and Body Works. Here’s a cute soy candle that I found on Amazon that isn’t that expensive.

5. Bath bombs

Bath bombs are a fun and trendy way to relax after a long day of work. Sitting in the bath with Netflix and one of these fizzing away is the definition of R&R. Here is a decently inexpensive bath bomb set I like from Amazon.

6. Stress Balls

When I’m super stressed squeezing these stress balls with motivational sayings really help keep me focused and motivated.

7. Good-looking Loungewear

If you’re working late nights, why not work comfortably and in style? I love luxurious, but comfortable loungewear that make you feel like a Queen (or King). Here are my personal favorite sets:

8. Fuzzy socks

My Grandmother always says, “If you’re cold, put on a pair of socks and you’ll feel warmer instantly.” I feel like that statement also applies to attitude. When I put on a pair of fuzzy socks, not only do I feel warmer, I feel motivated to move my butt and study. This pair on Amazon is  similar to a set I own:

9. Blooming Tea

I remember first having this tea with my Dad when I was visiting him in the UK.  We were at a Japanese restaurant and I saw it on the menu and was curious. Not only did it taste good, but watching the bud slowly open was the most satisfying and soothing thing. Here is a link with great reviews to a floral tea I plan on trying soon.

10. Fairy Lights

You may not have room for this, or you might. Fairy lights make any space so much more welcoming and aesthetic. I bought lantern lights from Urban Outfitters to use under my bed and make it more welcoming. I find lighting in general, like neon lights as well, make a space much nicer to live and chill  in. Here is an Amazon link to an inexpensive set of fairy lights:
